Six reasons roasters source through us

01

Origin, not access.

We are on the ground in Vietnam, sourcing direct from farms and co-ops. Our team personally selects, cups, and verifies every lot at the source.

02

Generations of farming. Decades of trade.

S54 is built on a lifetime of coffee. We established our brand in 2012, combining multi-generational farming reality with raw export expertise. We have lived this work at every single stage.

03

Cupped before it leaves Vietnam.

Every lot is rigorously assessed by a CQI-certified Q Robusta Grader at origin. Farm name, screen size, defect count, and cup score are all carefully documented, never estimated.

04

We return every single harvest.

We source from the same trusted farmers season after season. Consistency built on multi-year relationships ensures you receive identical quality and supply, year after year.

05

A direct link, locally anchored.

We bridge the distance between Vietnam's Central Highlands and Australia by managing our own export and local import channels, giving you a completely direct pipeline from origin to roastery.

06

Source to your brief.

Grade, screen, profile, volume — tell us what you need. Because we operate directly at origin, our team can find exactly what you need through our existing networks.

A return to origin

S54 is built on a lifetime in coffee. We grew up on family coffee farms in Vietnam, built our experience in global trade, and returned to origin with a clear purpose: to connect Australian roasters more directly with the people, knowledge, and coffee of Vietnam's Central Highlands.

Origin is not only where our story began. It is where our work continues.

It began on the farm

Our understanding of coffee began on the farm. From an early age, we learned to raise seedlings, care for the trees through the changing seasons, and return throughout each harvest to pick the cherries as they ripened.

Some of our fondest memories came after the day's work was done. We roasted coffee from the farm in a simple pan, ground it by hand, and shared it in the cool air among the trees. Knowing the work behind each cup gave us a lasting respect for the people who grow coffee and the patience required to grow it well.

“Farming taught us what it takes to produce coffee. Trade taught us how to assess, prepare, and deliver it.”

From farming into trade

That foundation eventually took us from farming into global trade, sourcing, and export. Farming taught us what it takes to produce coffee. Trade taught us how to assess, prepare, and deliver it reliably across international markets.

In 2012, we established S54 to bring these two sides of our experience together: multi-generational farming knowledge and decades of practical trade expertise.

Today, we operate on the ground in Vietnam, sourcing directly from trusted farms and co-ops across the Central Highlands. Our team personally selects, cups, and verifies every lot at origin. We return to the same farming communities each harvest, building long-term relationships that support local farmers while strengthening quality consistency and reliable supply.

Our Australian branch is a natural extension of this work. By managing our export operation in Vietnam and our local import channel in Australia, we provide a direct pipeline from origin to roastery. Australian customers gain a local point of contact supported by an experienced team at origin.

Whether your brief is based on grade, screen size, cup profile, or volume, our established network allows us to find and assess coffee according to what your roastery genuinely needs.

S54 exists to carry Vietnamese coffee forward with the recognition it deserves. We bring together the realities of farming, the discipline of global trade, and the relationships built through years at origin.

This is more than access to Vietnamese coffee. It is a direct connection to the people and experience behind it.
